Diane Sidenberg is a Watercolour artist and
sculptor who has been creating Judaica since 1985. She made a
name for herself when she designed and created a quilted and needlepointed
Chuppah for Beth David Synagogue that was featured in the Canadian
Jewish News. Recently, she completed a watercolour painting for
Adath Israel Congregation in Toronto. The art will be used for
Refuah Shlema cards to be sent to congregants who are ill.
Born in Toronto, Diane was educated at the University of Toronto
where she trained as a Registered Physiotherapist.
Currently, Diane specializes in painting custom marriage contracts known as Ketubbot (Ketubot) for weddings and special anniversaries. She also accepts commissioned work for synagogues and Jewish organizations, and enjoys designing and painting Blessings for the Home (housewarming gifts), Brit Milah and Baby Naming Certificates.
Diane is a member of the Toronto Watercolour Society, and is also
an accomplished calligrapher in the English language. For Hebrew
calligraphy, she works in collaboration with noted Hebrew Scribes
throughout Canada. She has studied watercolour and calligraphy
with private teachers in Toronto as well as at Toronto’s Koffler
Gallery.and the Ontario College of Art and Design
Diane Sidenberg has been commissioned
by the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto to create a volunteer
recognition award."
